Another poor comp performance…
So today was the first time I competed in around 8 months. And nothing’s changed.
In the gym I’m relaxed, controlling people and rolling the best I ever have. Ive been working on my cardio doing weights anything I can outside of the gym to help with my jiu jitsu.
So comp time, I was focus, visualised winning and how to do it. I was ready! On the mat and time to go, legs got heavy, arms went weak and gas tank empty. Rushed my takedown and fucked it up and ended up on my back. So next 4 minutes he went to mount then attempted an armbar which I defended, ended up passing his guard settling in side control and rushing an collar choke and ended up back on my back again. Same as before he went to mount couldn’t escape, boom with 1 minute to go. Balls lost again. So I know the mistakes I made and will work on them. First comp of the year, I’m going to use this as a guide compete in EVERY comp i can and by the end of the hopefully not choke and loose fights that I should win. Really hope I can shake these nerves and compete as I do at training.
